Previously the headquarters of the Afrika Zuid shipping line in Holland, the building had recently been named a registered historical monument. The soaring 16-foot ceilings and massive windows framing the Amstel River gave the open space a grand feeling.

Previously the home of a well-known Dutch art dealer, little had been done to create a consistent style. One room was conservative, the next ultra-modern. It had a hodge-podge feel that distracted rather than added to the overall vibe.

The kitchen was void of character, and after being completely gutted, was redesigned with stainless steel, wood and slate stone. It went from a bland and uninteresting room, to a cool and stylish space ideal for entertaining. Following renovation, the home was published in various international magazines, including Elle Decor, Vogue Living and Modern Living.
